Day 336 of a World of Light

The swing at the end of the world

Atop a hill, 8530.184 feet (2,600 meters) above sea level, near the village of Runtún, in Ecuador is a treehouse. This treetop structure overlooking Mt. Tungurahua is seismic monitoring station known as Casa del Arbol. It was built to keep an eye on the active volcano.

But what really attracts visitors to the site is the swing that hangs from a skinny branch and flies its passengers out over the edge of the precipice and over the canyon.

No one knows who built the swing.
