From the picture, might not recognize Uluru (Ayers Rock), Oz’s most famous natural landmark.
This is Uluru after a rain. Water falls all around the mountain changing its colour from a rich burgundy to shining sliver or black. And life explodes. Some of these creatures may have lain dormant for years suddenly wake up.
“The first rainfalls produce some strange sights. Birds shower in the rain and some (like galahs) splash and play, swinging by their beaks and hanging upside-down. Animals usually only seen at night often emerge from hiding to drink and savour the occasion.”
