The Tiger’s Nest
Legend has it that Buddhist master Guru Padmasambhava, found the site for Paro Taktsang Temple by flying there on the back of a tiger.
The Tiger’s Nest, as it is called, was built in 1692 against the side of a cliff nearly 3,000 feet above the Paro valley in Bhutan. After it burned in a fire in 1998, the important spiritual and cultural site was rebuilt.
