The Rock with Wings
In the New Mexico desert, a majestic rock formation called Shiprock towers 1,600 feet above the land. It is all that is left after a volcanic eruption that happened 30 million years ago. Known by the Navajo as Tsé Bitʼaʼí meaning "rock with wings", because of the legend that the land turned into a giant bird and carried the Navajo from the north to their present home.
It is forbidden to climb this sacred mountain.
