Elixir for Skin

Elixir for Skin

I’m going to share with you some advice that I found very beneficial when it was given to me.

With winter approaching, It’s timely advice.  I’m going to tell you how to soften dry winter skin with a very special essential oil.  For most of us, the colder months are very drying to our skin. There are lots of moisturizers out there but most of them are made with chemicals labelled with hard to understand words.  Even the ones in the health food stores can contain less than ideal ingredients.  Many contain alcohol, which to me is the most counterintuitive thing to put in a moisturizer as it is extremely drying to the skin.  The synthetic chemicals in these “health” products are not only harmful to our bodies, but their frequencies are not harmonious with our own and that affects us in many ways.  You have likely sensed that even if you have not yet been able to put it into words.

Are you sensitive too?

I was always drawn to natural and pure products because I instinctively knew that they were better for me.  In more recent years, I began to notice that I was growing more and more sensitive to chemicals.  Soon I wasn’t able to put anything on my skin without having some sort of reaction.  From what I’ve been seeing, I’m not alone in this.  I believe that with the growing number of chemicals polluting our environment, many of us are noticing sensitivities to things we’ve previously been ok with.

Rose Hip Seed oil was suggested to me for my dry skin.  I tried it and to my great surprise it made my skin softer than it’s been since I was a teen AND I didn’t react to it.  This might not be a biggie for many but for super-sensitive me it was a g-dsend.  I was so thrilled.  I used it devotedly for a long time.  It was expensive but it was worth it.

Happy with my Rose Hip Seed Oil, I didn’t think I’d find anything better.  I wasn’t looking for anything else.  But as my connection with the oils deepened and I began working with them more and more, I was led to my current supplier of essential oils.  They introduced me to a CO2 extract – which is much richer and more potent than the cold pressed oil I had been using.  It has a longer shelf life and you don’t need to use as much.  A little of this Rose Hip Seed oil goes a long way.  It can be diluted in a fine quality carrier oil making it last longer which meant I saved money.

How much do I use?

Rose Hip is a bright orangey colour and you’ll want to be careful about how and where you create your mixture because it can stain.  Put down a towel or some paper to protect your table.  It can also make your skin a little orangey.  While I was finding the right ratio, I had so many people ask me if I had been away because I looked tanned.  You might want that tanned look.  If so, you’ll add more of the rich Rose Hip to your mix.  Play with the oils – you’ll find what works for you.

I have found that 5mls. of Rose Hip Seed oil mixed with a 100ml. bottle of Coconut Oil from Hawaii is the perfect mix for me. I blend mine in a larger clear glass bottle – so I can see the colour – and then pour it back into the empty 100ml. Coconut oil bottle.

By the way … did I tell you that the oils come in very special high frequency violet glass bottles!  They preserve the freshness of the oils for much longer and the oils maintain their original frequency/vibrations.  I’ll tell you more about these special bottles at a different time, but it is because of the special violet glass that I intentionally put the coco-rosehip blend back in the bottles they originally came in.   The nice thing about having the 2 different sized bottles is that you can use the large one for your daily needs and keep the 5ml. one for travelling – or to give as a gift.

You might want to experiment with the ratio of Rose Hip to Carrier Oil.  You might need a little more or less than I do, depending on how dry your skin tends to get.  I used quite a bit at first because my skin was so so thirsty for it.  Over time, with regular use of the Rose Hip Seed, my skin became softer and I didn’t need it to be as concentrated.  Your skin will show you how much you need.  It loves this oil.  It drinks it up.  I find the smell quite lovely too.  There is an added benefit to mixing it up yourself …

Your special touch …

There is something really special that happens when you make this blend.  You integrate your own energy into the mixture and in my experience that enhances the overall experience with the oils,  It’s kind of like what happens when a mother makes a meal for her child.  The love that goes into it makes it taste better and I believe it even becomes more nutritious.  I’m sure that’s why kids always prefer mom’s version over any other.  When you work with the oils in this way you also create a connection that enhances your intuition on how to use them.  That is because there is a communication happening between the two of you.  These vibrant oils are living essences.  Don’t make the mistake of comparing them with the over-processed, mass produced, adulterated products that are flooding the market.

It’s not just for your face.

I have noticed that people who have used the Rose Hip Seed Oil as a facial moisturizer, hesitate to use it on other parts of their body.  I think it might be partly because we have been conditioned to believe that we need a different oil for our face than for the rest of our bodies. Maybe its marketed that way because companies can get away with putting cheaper or lesser quality ingredients in body or hand cream because those areas are not as sensitive as the face.  But our skin is ONE whole organ and if we wouldn’t put it on our face, perhaps we shouldn’t put it on any part of our skin.

My point here is that you should not be afraid to use the Rose Hip Seed oil all over your body.  I have not found anything better to moisturize my face, my body, my hands and my feet.  In fact, when I make the effort to use it regularly, my feet get so soft that I feel as if I’d just had a pedicure.  If you’re worried about the cost – though it may seem a little expensive up front – if you really compare dollars to cents, you might find that you will end up spending less in the long run.  Plus you will be nourishing your body with a natural, high quality, high vibrational essence.

Great timing …

With Winter approaching, it couldn’t be a better time for Rose Hip Seed Oil to be offered.  It’s available in this season’s offering and it’s usually only available once a year.  If you have used the Rose Hip Seed before, you’re likely also as devoted to it as I am.  I suggest stocking up for the winter – it’s usually only offered once a year and my supplier does not always have extra stock.  If you’re new to the oil, try a 5ml. bottle and test it out.  You’ll be amazed at what it can do for your skin.  Make sure you get a pure carrier oil.  That will make a huge difference.  You don’t want to mix a pure natural essential oil with an inferior carrier oil that is likely to go rancid over a short period of time.
