Day 51

Day 51

A bridge into the clouds.

The dreamlike mist of the rare cloud forests, found only in the highest places in the world, create an aura of mystery that might be the reason they are known as ‘elfin forests’. With inaccessible locations and a unique climate they are home to wildlife that are not found anywhere else on the planet.

In the Q’eqchi’ Maya language, there is a saying that ‘the forest catches the clouds’ (‘naxchap li choq’), a fairly accurate description of the way the cloud forests form.
