Day 136

Day 136

No No

When her autistic son refused to eat, Alessandra Bester started researching ways of making nutrient dense food attractive to him. He was drawn to beautiful, colourful things so began making nutritious chocolates. They would sit at the kitchen table and make them together.

Because her son said no no to everything and because she made the chocolates with no dairy, no gluten, no artificial ingredients and no coloring, they called their chocolate company, NoNo.

Her vision was to hire other single moms like her who were caring for neurodiverse children had unpredictable schedules. When she saw how well her son did with the chocolate making and how fulfilling it was for him, she expanded her vision and began hiring her diverse team, who Alessandra recognized as brilliant craftspeople.
