The sunken forest
Lake Kaindy was formed by a landslide after an earthquake. A natural dam was created and the bowl filled with mountain river water that regularly changes colour. Part of the forest of Picea Schrenkiana trees sunk into the lake and the cold water preserves their tree trunks.
